WooCommerce iOS app builder: your store as a web app on an iPhone home screen

WooCommerce iOS App Builder

WooCommerce iOS App Builder

WooCommerce iOS app builder for stores that already work: give iPhone and iPad shoppers an app for your WooCommerce store, without rebuilding it.

The problem: iPhone shoppers expect an app, and the App Store has rules

iPhone users are used to shopping in apps. But getting into the App Store isn’t just about having an app. Apple reviews apps, and an app that is only a repackaged website can be rejected for not offering enough value.

That’s why wrapping your site in a shell often fails, and why custom iOS development is slow and costly when your WooCommerce store already works.

How the WooCommerce iOS app builder works for iPhone and iPad

RyanPlugins.app gives you two ways to reach iPhone and iPad shoppers from your existing WooCommerce store. It does not submit an App Store build for you, so here is exactly what each route covers:

  • Installable web app (Pro and Agency): shoppers add your storefront to their home screen straight from the browser. There is no App Store review and no Apple developer fee.
  • Native iOS source code (Agency): download the full app source code, including an Xcode project, so you or your developer can build, customize and submit the iOS app yourselves.

What your iPhone customers get with the web app

  • An icon on their home screen, added from the browser
  • Product browsing, search and categories
  • A cart and checkout connected to your WooCommerce store
  • Live products, prices and stock, so changes show immediately

How it works

  1. Install the RyanPlugins Connector plugin on your WordPress site to connect your WooCommerce store.
  2. Choose your app name, colors and icon in the dashboard, then press Build.
  3. Share your web app with shoppers, or on Agency, download the source code and Xcode project.

Features

  • Installable web app for iPhone and iPad, built from your WooCommerce store (Pro and Agency)
  • Full app source code with an Xcode project for a native iOS build (Agency)
  • Your branding: app name, icon and colors
  • Products, prices and stock stay live from WooCommerce through the connector
  • Every payment gateway on Pro and Agency
  • Works alongside the Android apps and the web app

Publishing on the App Store

The web app skips the App Store entirely. If you build the native app from the Agency source code, you need a Mac with Xcode and an Apple Developer Program membership, which is paid and renewed yearly. Check Apple’s current price and the App Review Guidelines before you start, because Apple decides whether an app is approved.

FAQ

Does RyanPlugins.app publish my app to the App Store?
No. The installable web app needs no App Store listing. For a native iOS app, the Agency plan gives you the source code and an Xcode project, and you or your developer build and submit it.

Will Apple approve my app?
Approval is up to Apple’s review. Apple can reject an app that is only a repackaged website, so a native build should offer more than your site in a frame. Read Apple’s App Review Guidelines before you submit.

Do I need a Mac or Xcode?
Not for the web app. To build the native iOS app from the Agency source code, yes: Xcode runs on a Mac.

Do I need an Apple Developer account?
To publish on the App Store, yes. The web app does not need one.

Can I get iOS and Android together?
Yes. Android apps are included on every plan, and the web app covers iPhone and iPad from Pro. See the WooCommerce app builder.

Is there an option without the App Store?
Yes, the installable web app runs in the browser. See the WooCommerce web app builder.
